Tarek El Kady is a prominent entrepreneur and esteemed angel investor hailing from his hometown, Alexandria, Egypt.
With roots deeply embedded in Alexandria, Tarek helms KD Group as its CEO, overseeing a conglomerate of companies
that cater to a diverse clientele spanning the Middle East, North Africa, and the Mediterranean region.
Tarek is the visionary founder and CEO of Techne. He also is the founder and chairperson of Alexandria Business Angel
Investment Network (Alex Angels) and holds the same positions at The Mediterranean Investors.
As the Founding Curator of the Global Shapers Community Alexandria hub, a World Economic Forum initiative, Tarek
played a key role in nurturing the next generation of business leaders in the region
Tarek's unwavering commitment and contributions to the entrepreneurial and investment ecosystems were recognized
in 2019 when he received the prestigious award from the American University in Cairo's Venture Lab. This accolade is a
testament to his outstanding support and pivotal role in fostering entrepreneurial growth.
Furthermore, Tarek has been appointed as a Senator at the Grand Assembly of the World Business Angels Investment
Forum (WBAF). In 2020, he represented Egypt in the Global Startup Committee of the Grand Assembly, solidifying his
influential presence on the global stage.
Tarek also served on the board of the Africa Business Angel Network (ABAN) from 2022 to 2024, contributing to the
growth of angel investing across the continent.
